Here are some of the highlights from the evening. For more info, please visit PTAP Bahamas Mitch is one of the country’s star basketball players. For his age he has achieved a lot including playing for teams in Mexico, Venezuela, The Bahamas and in the NBA D league. I wanted to portray a bachelor, ball player and fashionisto all in one. Ball playing is his life so the ball itself played a key role in adding character to each of the shots. The new series titled ‘No ball in the house’ was chosen based on the saying most mothers use when scolding their sons about throwing, bouncing or kicking a ball around the home as a child. Check out this cool behind the scenes video which lends viewers an idea as to how the actual series is going to be displayed. Please enjoy. ![]() ![]() Photography, art direction & styling: ScharadL Assisted by: Bonnett Johnson, Vijay Subramanian Accessories by: David Yurman See the behind the scenes show 2 comments This was dope!! he killed it! nice work Scharad & Mitch I know you get tired of me saying this but again I say, “you need to be in international publications, this needs to be commissioned for someones spread in Details, Esquire, GQ, Complex, take you pick!!!!!”. That is all. I’ve been working really hard on my new website the last few months. I kept putting it off month after month for 2 main reasons. 1. Procrastination 2. I thought it was not ready. As a photographer, I always want to keep new, fresh, updated work in view of the public. I feel it shows consistency and growth, which are equally important in business. Not to mention a new brand, logo and direction with my work were also important in the restructuring of my company. I know I may sound a bit stuffy about all this but to me, branding is everything and product goes hand in hand. The site is a reflection of my style, clean and simple. I wanted to highlight my work, have a website that’s really easy to navigate and the layout not fight with the images themselves. I slaved month after month, designing concept after concept working with an amazing team of people, who I feel are a big reason why my style has become so much better. Kedar Clarke, a pioneer in the country in styling and fashion brought a more balanced sense of style to my shoots. Torkel Dawkins, Sylathia Petty, and Willissa Armstrong all equally gifted makeup artists helped carry out any vision I had in mind. Hair stylists like Cashera Rolle and Devon Hanna worked their miracle hands and all created works of art that only complimented mine. I also had great assistance from other photographers like Huey Johnson, Vijay Subramanian, Bonnett Johnson who lent their time and support on set with no question. I trust you will enjoy the new website. With new features like the ability to share galleries, a video page, instant social media connectivity, and a beautiful mobile platform, the site remains sleek but takes advantage of the digital world we live in. Please enjoy and be creative. no comments I was asked to be apart of a recent workshop that was put on by Natasha Wallace. She is a member of a group on Facebook called “Photographers of The Bahamas”. From time to time, the group puts on workshops in various genres of photography, skill sets and techniques. I was honored to be asked to speak/present at a workshop on “beauty and glamour” photography. I spoke on materials, techniques and even gave hands on training using some of the workshops models. Patrick Robinson, fellow photographer had this to say about the presentation; Here are some of the images from the workshop. Please enjoy. no comments show 9 comments I have said it before and I will say it again. You need to be in my next “Instyle” or “Vogue”. You are just that good. Another wonderful photo spread. So very talented. I really love your work SL, your only getting better with time. You have a real knack for capturing beauty in any light or scenery. I was impressed by the Venus and Africa projects and this latest one is just as top notch as the the others. Keep on striving for the stratosphere you almost there!! I absolutely love it! Once again you have created amazing work! Beautiful model, talented photographer, make-up artist and stylists. Way to go guys! I fell in love with your work! I love the concept of this look book and the video too, the music was a great choice. Although not my style in particular, I am loving the resurgence of the 90′s hip hop and 80′s pop looks all throughout today’s fashion. It screams sexycrazycool, a new wave of retro styling brought perfectly to us through the eyes of the camera, Scharad L and his AWESOME TEAM. Keep it coming. Your work is like food art! Delicious…. Awesome job and I am not just saying this but I am honestly a huge fan of your work, I’m sure it won’t be long before your classed with the masters. S/O to you and your team & keep up the great work! That foto where she’s in the blue shoes and bendin forward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i CANNOT! STUNNING! This Photo shoot is AMAZING, great hair, make-up, styling, lighting, Model,Location and most of all photography !… I Love This. Definitely need to take photos with you sometime Your love and passion for the art of photography shows by the smallest details you capture in a photo. I love it, I’ve known Tamika for a while now. She has a beautiful face. A true black queen. She has amazing skin, incredible eyes and very sharp features. I wanted to do something urban, natural with very African inspired jewelry from a local designer, Kimetria Pratt. I called upon my right hand Make Up Artist Torkel Dawkins and we made magic…again. I wanted bright colourful hues and nubian-like inspired tribal markings to bring these looks to life. Tamika was an awesome canvas. I love this series. Its so full of texture and feeling with a sense of rawness. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Tamika’s beauty burns through this series. Hope you enjoy.

ScharadL and his team hit it on the head again. 1 Superb and gifted Photog + A great model choice with strong angular features and flawless skin + a fresh and talented MUA + cool accessories = exceptional theme executed very well. I love the Headshot, its a everyday photo concept but what makes it different and special is the minimalist nature. We have just one bold piece of jewelry adorning the neck, a perfectly angled limb to match a confident, beautiful angular face, with fierce and smiling eyes capurtured by the photographer, and BAM, Africa!!! This is sooooooo gorgeous!!!!! Your work gets better and better everytime. I love the concept. one word….FIERCE!!!! absolutely stunning! The first thing I notice looking at these photos is the model’s eyes. They are soo freakishly Amazing. SL you did a fantastic job capturing pure beauty and elegance in its natural form. The makeup, the model the work……..ON POINT!!! I love this series…The model is beautiful and has wonderful features. You did a great job once again!!! Nice. Just wish they were smaller. Its hard to see the whole photo when its so large. I love the closeness of the shots. It’s channels intimatacy with her. You captured the essence of strength, femininity and boldness in these shots. Love them and great choice for the model too! Latoya Moxey, Owner & Designer at Minka Swimwear is about to release her new line. Inspired by 60s fashion and the James Bond collection, Minka is very excited for this 2012 collection. This video depicts the official photo-shoot done for the Minka look book. The location was amazing, the models and the swimwear all joined together to create beautiful images.
